Track’s Lounge – West

Track’s Lounge – West marks the expansion of one of Omaha’s most enduring social and culinary institutions. The original Track’s Lounge has been a beloved neighborhood bar and grill since 1965, known for its “World’s Best Chicken,” char-buffed wings, and vibrant local atmosphere.

The original lounge grew out of Omaha’s historic Aksarben racing and social scene, where patrons would gather after race days and community events. Over the decades, it became a comfortable local fixture — a place where generations of Omaha residents shared meals, stories, and memories.

Slate Architecture collaborated with the Track’s ownership team to bring this legacy to life in a modern context with the new West Omaha location. The design preserves the brand’s character and community identity while accommodating expanded capacity, multiple viewing stations, and an energized game-day environment.

A central bar anchors the space, organizing circulation and optimizing sightlines to an extensive network of suspended displays. Thoughtful coordination of audiovisual systems, lighting, and interior finishes ensures that viewing experiences are immersive without overwhelming the architecture.

Durable materials with visual warmth — custom millwork, patterned flooring, and expressive lighting — articulate distinct zones while sustaining the venue’s lively social energy. Track’s signature branding and racing-inspired elements are integrated into the interior as architectural gestures that speak to the venue’s heritage.

The result is a contemporary entertainment environment rooted in local tradition: a place that honors Track’s longstanding Omaha presence and welcomes both long-time patrons and new guests into a vibrant, flexible gathering space.
