Kencoco Bowl

Slate Architecture partnered with the Kencono Bowl team to transform an existing commercial space into a light-filled, brand-forward fast-casual restaurant. The design balances warmth and efficiency while reinforcing Kencono Bowl’s focus on healthy, approachable dining.

A series of softly illuminated arched wall niches establishes rhythm and depth throughout the dining space, creating a calm backdrop for seating while visually elongating the interior. Layered green tones, integrated planter elements, and warm wood accents reinforce the brand’s connection to freshness and natural ingredients. Concealed lighting within the niches provides ambient illumination while minimizing visual clutter.

The service counter was designed to clearly organize ordering, pickup, and back-of-house functions, with vertically oriented tile and a wood soffit helping define the customer experience. Open ceilings were intentionally darkened to recede visually, allowing the architectural elements and branding moments to remain the focal point.

The result is a contemporary, welcoming environment that supports efficient operations while elevating the guest experience through thoughtful material selection, lighting, and spatial composition.
