Slate Architecture partnered with Lueder Construction to design the new headquarters for Papillion Sanitation in Bellevue, Nebraska. This state-of-the-art facility was meticulously planned to support the company's growing operational needs. The design includes expansive office spaces, a fully-equipped maintenance shop, and optimized vehicle storage areas. The project emphasizes functionality and sustainability, incorporating energy-efficient systems and materials that align with the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship. The headquarters serves as a hub for Papillion Sanitation's operations, enhancing both workflow efficiency and employee well-being.

Located at the intersection of 84th Street and Barmettler Drive, LaVista City Centre is a vibrant addition to the community. This retail center, designed by Slate Architecture, features 12,000+/- square feet of space divided into five tenant bays, including a restaurant. The project also includes a stand-alone Starbucks coffee shop, offering a convenient and modern spot for residents and visitors alike. With its sleek design and strategic location, LaVista City Centre enhances the commercial landscape of LaVista, providing a dynamic and inviting environment for businesses and patrons.

Slate Architecture completed an impressive project for Goodwill located at 36th & L. This 5,400 SF facility is designed to serve the community with versatile community training areas, corporate office spaces, donation drop off area, and a retail store. The design integrates modern aesthetics with functional spaces, featuring vibrant and welcoming interiors that reflect Goodwill's mission of empowerment and education. The training center is thoughtfully designed to provide an optimal environment for learning and development, ensuring that Goodwill can continue to offer valuable resources and support to the community.

Slate Architecture proudly presents a modern retail center located in Omaha, Nebraska. This 10,000 +/- square foot development features five tenant bays, including a restaurant with an inviting outdoor seating area. The design seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetics, creating a welcoming environment for both businesses and customers. The well-lit exterior and thoughtful architectural elements highlight Slate Architecture's commitment to excellence in commercial design.

Slate Architecture partners with Scantron Technology Solutions to revamp their breakroom into a vibrant open space fostering employee interaction. The redesign centers on a spacious layout, introducing a sleek counter and space for gathering. Emphasizing functionality and aesthetics, the renovated area promotes collaboration and relaxation. Slate Architecture's innovative approach aims to enhance Scantron's workspace culture by providing an inviting environment for team engagement and rejuvenation.

Agrivision was quickly expanding and in need of more space at their main headquarters in Pacific Junction, Iowa. Slate was brought on to redesign the existing office utilizing the empty mezzanine adjacent to the occupied space. As a regional leader in John Deere sales, Agrivision wanted to highlight and celebrate the relationship with the manufacturer and incorporating striking images throughout the space added bold color.

Ash Grove Cement reached out to Slate Architecture with a need for a new administrative facility. Among many things, the program includes private offices, a conference rooms, and a reproduction center. The extensive use of concrete materials during construction reinforces the design concept of showcasing the material mined and manufactured on site.

Situated on an extremely tight sight, on the corner of two arterial roads and up next to an existing building, the design team worked to utilize every bit of the site. Working closely with the owner, city planning department, civil engineer, and neighbor, Slate Architecture was able to maximize the building size. The design team designed this building to be an icon for a busy intersection and selected materials that were inviting, simple and durable.

The Goodwill location in central Omaha hired Slate Architecture to provide architectural and structural engineering services for the renovation of an existing sporting goods store into a new home for their drop-off and retail location. The program developed by Slate included approximately 15,000-18,000 square feet of sales floor, 5,000 square feet of backroom and sorting area, and 1,200 square feel GoodBytes (technology reuse) and 1,200 square feet of gated and secured technology gage, and a new donation/drop-off canopy.

The owners of Culinary Kidz were looking for a place to be able to host multiple cooking classes geared towards children. Slate utilized a folding partition to help separate the spaces, and worked closely with the owners and contractor to design modular furniture that would be flexible for the space. The end result allowed for three classes to be held simultaneously and the workstations can accommodate both large and small gatherings.

Range 406 is an indoor shooting range and retail store located in Helena, MT. The program consists of eight shooting lanes, three rifle and five pistol. Safety being a top priority, the design team utilized insulated concrete forms with a complete back stop and baffle system to protect the structure and patrons from shooting and ricochets. The retail side of the shooting range includes office, coffee bar/break area, a classroom, in addition to the sales floor. The owners desired to use the building exterior along its arterial street as a billboard, the design team decided to incorporate the company colors to make the building stand out from its surroundings.

Slate Architecture worked to design a new office space for IAT insurance that captured the upbeat and modern culture, while maintaining a productive workspace. The team created a balance of interesting design elements, thoughtful conference spaces, and efficient office layouts. A 3D tile is used to add visual interest to client spaces and the staff breakroom, and a striking light cove tops each of the larger conference rooms to create hierarchy throughout the workplace.

Intersystems goals for their new facility included enhancing inter-office communications and providing a comfortable modern aesthetic. The solution was an open office area surrounded by private offices and community spaces on the perimeter. Private offices were equipped with extra wide, barn-style doors with the idea that employees would be more likely to keep the doors open and thereby eliminating a perceived barrier between the private offices and the open office area.

No More Empty Pots “Connects individuals and groups to improve self-sufficiency, regional food security and economic resilience of urban and rural communities through advocacy and action.” The advocates took this to heart when they began their search for a building in the Florence area to house two commercial kitchens, a kid’s learning kitchen, café, and rooftop garden. The space accommodates this large program with durable materials and an emphasis on sustainability.

Our team was tasked with increasing collaboration opportunities among the Keyless Entry staff members through the improvements of this existing space. A large warehouse/workroom is separated from the sales floor by a half height glass wall, helping to control the acoustics but not separating the two sides completely. A large glass conference room off the lobby area greets guests while large glass walls keep the private offices welcoming to the rest of the office.

RDO Truck Center was looking to expand their presence in Omaha, Nebraska along the Interstate 80 Corridor. RDO came to Slate Architecture to assist them with the design of a new facility to house their local corporate offices for leasing and sales, a Showroom and Retail Center as well as a maintenance facility. The 46,500 square foot facility sits on over 10 acres of land, providing interior and exterior showroom space.

Werner Enterprises is one of the largest trucking companies in the country, so it was no surprise they were looking to expand their offices by branching out in Omaha. After selecting a prime location in Omaha’s bustling Midtown district, Werner selected Slate Architecture and AOI Construction to develop a satellite office. The approximately 4,500 sq ft space was designed featuring DIRTT walls – a method of sustainable construction that assembles walls off-site for easy and mess-free installation on the job. Werner wanted to bring a contemporary look to the new space, so Slate and AOI worked together to select finishes that were refreshingly new and within the owner’s budget.

A new approach to travel planning - Travel Design Lounge combines traditional travel agency practices with a relaxing lounge space. Stylish finishes and furniture combine with contemporary light fixtures to give this space a truly modernized look.
